Secret Of The Scorching Desert is one of the Archon quests in the Dune area of Sumeru.
Your objective is to investigate a tomb and discover the truth behind the Scarlet King.
Here’s a walkthrough of Secret Of The Scorching Desert in Genshin Impact.
Wait until the following morning
First of all, wait until the following morning, i.e. from 6 am to 8 am. You can fast forward time.
Gather at the village entrance
Then, head to the entrance of the Aaru Village.
Go to the agreed location
Then, go all the way west in the desert area to reach the agreed location.
It’s just behind the Mausoleum of King Deshret.
Enter the mysterious ruins
Get inside the mysterious ruins.
Solve the monument puzzle
You will then see 3 monuments. You have to rotate all 3 monuments until they have the same symbol.
The symbol is shown in the image below.
The left-most monument rotates all 3, the middle rotates 2 and the right-most monument rotates itself.
To solve the puzzle, rotate the left-most first until you get the correct symbol. Then do the same for the middle and then rotate the final one (right-most monument).
Once all 3 monuments face the correct direction, a path is open. Use the elevator down.
Head down
In the next area, you will encounter fungi mobs. Defeat them first.
Make your way down the stairs. You’ll see another path. The walls can open. Just follow the path.
You will reach another elevator but defeat the fungi first.
Use the elevator to go up
Stand on the platform and activate the elevator.
On the upper level, defeat the fungi to unlock the chest.
Now, go to the elevator button on the wall and press it first. Let the elevator go down.
Once the elevator has gone down, activate the elevator button again.
Jump on the top of the elevator as it’s coming up.
You will now reach a higher level.
Solve the monument puzzle again
Here, you need to get all 3 monuments to have the same symbol (image below). It’s the same as before.
This time, you will notice 2 buttons on each side. If you turn off both buttons, the left and right monuments stop rotating.
The middle monument will continue to rotate.
To solve this puzzle, you basically need to time the monument rotation to follow the middle monument.
When you see the middle monument is the same as the left, turn on the left-side button.
Similarly, when you see the middle monument is the same as the right, turn on the right-side button too. Now, all 3 monuments will rotate at the same time and will activate the elevator.
Use the elevator down
This time, activate the elevator and it will go to a new area below. Just stand on the platform as it moves.
Head to the tree
You will then see a giant tree. Just walk towards it.
You will get a cutscene and the truth behind the Scarlet King and the Dendro Archon’s relationship.
Go to the Eremites’ hideout
Now, head to the Eremites’ hideout which is south of Aaru Village. The location is shown in the map below, marked by the quest symbol.
You will see an arch with two Eremites guarding it. Enter the area.
Go back to the village chief’s house
Finally, head back to the village chief’s house and the quest ends here.
