Aspect of Piercing Cold is one of the Aspects you’ll look for if you’re playing as an Ice Shards Sorcerer in Diablo 4.
Fortunately, it’s available in one of the dungeons early on in the game.
Here’s how you can get the Ice Shard Aspect in Diablo 4.
Head to the Dead Man’s Dredge
The dungeon you need to clear is the Dead Man’s Dredge and it’s located near Yelesna.
The exact location is shown in the map below marked by the dungeon symbol.
Enter the cave to begin.
Collect Animus from Animus Carriers
The first thing you have to do in the dungeon is to collect Animus from killing Animus Carriers.
There are a number of Animus Carriers all around the dungeon that you’re probably forced to explore the whole area.
Once you’ve collected all of the Animus and the bar is full, go to the red barrier and deposit the Animus into the Animus Urn nearby.
Travel to the Slaughter
The next objective is to reach the Slaughter.
On the way there you may be trapped in some ambush attacks where you have to survive a certain time period.
Free the prisoners
When you’ve reached the Slaughter, you will have to free seven prisoners; some dead some alive.
There’ll be tons of enemies near them.
After you’re done with the last prisoner, defeat the elite.
The dungeon is now completed and you will have unlocked Aspect of Piercing Cold.
How to use the Aspect of Piercing Cold
Now that you have the Aspect, go to Kyovashad and look for the NPC to imprint the Aspect onto a weapon.
Your Ice Shards will now pierce three times, dealing 25% less damage per subsequent enemy hit. This is particularly useful for Ice Shards’ builds.
