Aqueous Tidemarks is a side quest in Fontaine of Genshin Impact.
Your objective is to join Virgil to look for treasure in Liliacruces Treasure.
Here’s a walkthrough and guide of Aqueous Tidemarks in Genshin Impact.
To begin the quest, head to the quest marker at the Court of Fontaine as shown in the map below.
Talk to Virgil to begin.
During the dialogue, follow him and you’ll immediately be transported to the location.
Search for and collect clues
Dive into the water.
Head to the markers underwater to look for clues.
Continue to go deeper.
Explore the former site of the Liliacruces Forum
You will be taught a new mechanism where you can absorb a Xenochromatic Hunter Ray’s ability.
It’s your “E” ability and allows you to slice enemies and some objects.
For e.g. you can slice the green orb on the vine that is holding the treasure chest.
Once the vine is gone, open the chest to get an Ancient Key.
Proceed deeper
Now, use the slice ability to slice the vines blocking the way.
The path with clear. Proceed deeper.
You will now see a different creature called the Xenochromatic Armored Crab.
Absorb the ability and it allows you to unleash shockwaves / create an Armored Shield. Use the shockwave to destroy the rocks.
Go to the device and use the Ancient Key.
Search for and collect clues
In the next area, use the ability to create a barrier to swim through the currents.
Search the area for clues. Go to the rock and destroy it.
Proceed ahead.
In the next area, go to the marked area which is a path blocked by a steel gate.
Talk to Virgil
Surface from the water and talk to Virgil above.
Find a way to open the path forward
You will now be introduced to Pneuma Blocks.
Collect the gold one and then hit the device on the right.
Next, collect the purple Pneuma Block and hit the device on the right.
Both devices will turn “Balanced” and the middle relay unlocks.
Interact with the Pneuma relay.
Proceed further
The steel gate is gone.
Dive underwater and proceed deeper.
Keep going until you reach dry land.
Defeat the clockwork meka
Take down the clockwork mekas.
Proceed further inside.
Proceed deeper inside
Go to the end and jump down.
Interact with the relay and the water level rises.
Proceed further and defeat more mekas.
Defeat the Ruin Guard
You’ll reach a Ruin Guard. Take the machine down.
Interact with the relay to open the door.
Find the secret treasure
In the next room, you’ll find a waypoint.
Interact with the markers on the screen to find the treasure.
Fight and survive
During the cutscene, Virgil will betray the Traveler.
You have to fight the Ruin Grader. This Ruin Grader won’t fully die. It keeps coming back.
You need to bring it down three times.
After the third time, you’ll be asked to break the glass barrier.
Follow the current
After the glass breaks and the water pours, you’ll just need to follow the current to exit the place.
The quest ends here. There’s also a Luxurious Chest.
